Are you a trance addict? If you have a fierce and intense love for a certain style of electronic music that totally commands your attention, then the answer to the question is without a doubt a resounding yes. Because it is the trance addict who thoroughly enjoys everything and anything that is in connection to trance music as a group. Many fit the criteria of a trance addict. Nevertheless, sometimes are not aware that they fall into the group that are the many and very proud indeed.

The trance addict is someone who not only appreciates trance music per se, but is very knowledgeable as to what trance music is and what it means to their world personally. A trance addict is someone who does not hide his or her passion for this unique genre of music and always finds some new way to express his or her like for this realm of music. Be it through writing a blog entry online about the object of their affection or joining a forum that is exclusively for the trance music lover or trance addict.

The Difference Between Trance Music and Hard Trance Music

A fast beat music style created in the 1980’s, Trance is more commonly referred to as techno or house music, though this terminology is not 100% correct. At the heart of trance is a steady, fast drum beat that leaves the listener feeling as though they are mentally drifting, or in a trance, thus the name of the music. There are various different forms of Trance music, including the popular Hard Trance.

Trance music, in general, offers some set characteristics. Almost as if riding a roller coaster of sound, the electronica that makes up the Trance style is a building, peaking and declining form of song / beat integration. The basis for many of the club and dance hits of today, the club music is more well known to the crowds that frequent night clubs than any other sector of the population.

Psychedelic Trance: Altering the Mind

Trance music is known for its steady beats and almost mesmerizing groove. Those who listen to Trance music on a regular basis can often be said to exhibit a ‘tranceā€ like state of mind. Whether this state of mind is caused by the elevated heart beat style foundations or the synthetic undertones and melodies is hard to tell, but one thing is certain, Trance Music can be a psychedelic experience and thus was born the genre of Psychedelic Trance.

Psychedelic Trance was first recognized in the mid 1990’s in the United Kingdom. A derivative of Goa Trance, Psychedelic Trance is thought to alter the state of mind of the listener into an almost floating way. Over the years, the definition of Psychedelic Trance expanded to include more of the Trance style music selections being practiced in clubs. These styles are characterized by varying mood, tempo and style.
