A fast beat music style created in the 1980’s, Trance is more commonly referred to as techno or house music, though this terminology is not 100% correct. At the heart of trance is a steady, fast drum beat that leaves the listener feeling as though they are mentally drifting, or in a trance, thus the name of the music. There are various different forms of Trance music, including the popular Hard Trance.
Trance music, in general, offers some set characteristics. Almost as if riding a roller coaster of sound, the electronica that makes up the Trance style is a building, peaking and declining form of song / beat integration. Trance music is known for its steady beats and almost mesmerizing groove. Those who listen to Trance music on a regular basis can often be said to exhibit a ‘trance” like state of mind. Whether this state of mind is caused by the elevated heart beat style foundations or the synthetic undertones and melodies is hard to tell, but one thing is certain, Trance Music can be a psychedelic experience and thus was born the genre of Psychedelic Trance.

Over the years, the definition of Psychedelic Trance expanded to include more of the Trance style music selections being practiced in clubs. These styles are characterized by varying mood, tempo and style.

Soon after the sound of Hip Hop provoked him to start his foray into DJ’ing and production. Then came house as Satoshi became fascinated by the early Chicago mix-tapes he was hearing.
A Japanese cosmetic company asked Satoshi to produce a track for their forthcoming promo parties where the legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles was performing. Knuckles saw the potential in Satoshi’s music and asked if he was interested in collaborating.
